The article from The Information cites "two people familiar with the matter" in saying Oculus is looking to outright buy game studios and sign exclusive deals. Whether it's video games, movies, or television shows, he's a combination of jock and nerd and the two parts of the whole have figured out how to live peaceably. This is where Splinter Cell comes in. While a deal with Ubisoft for these VR games would be in-line with its previous movements, Oculus has never outright bought a VR studio. There are stealth games, and then there's Splinter Cell. This is lower than the 33% reported previous year. It has yet to actually release a VR product, and while VR is more known, it's still relatively niche. Competition from industry heavyweights like Valve and Sony is fierce in the VR space, and despite their global presence, Facebook is still new players in the games market. Oculus' former head of content, Jason Rubin, is leading this initiative but no game studios have been named as possible targets for Facebook.

Facebook is a massive company that has arguably dominated social media and more than dabbled in gaming, creating several VR headsets over the years. These could be smaller experiences similar to Batman: Arkham VR, previous games given the VR treatment or even full-blown titles. According to a Game Developers Conference survey only 27% of developers are interested in making VR games, down from 33% a year ago. You can reach him on Twitter.
