Amazon Prime Day 2019 is July 15 and 16

Amazon Prime Day 2019 Date

A few of Amazon's retail rivals, meanwhile, want to cede as little ground as possible to the e-commerce giant and have gone ahead and announced their own discounts and promotions to counter Prime Day. eBay and Target are both planning to offer some serious deals to try and chip away at Amazon a bit, with eBay even getting a little cheeky with the announcement of its so-called "Crash Sale" that's also set for Prime Day, on July 15. RetailMeNot predicts about 250 vendors will participate, which translates to a 30% increase in Prime Day-related promotions. While 98% of U.S. Prime members who plan to shop on Prime Day will do so on Amazon, 34% of U.S. members also intend to shop for deals at other online retailers. The rest of the Prime Day 2019 deals will be hosted at this page. This year is the fifth year Amazon will hold the event - a day usually marked by high single-day sales (though it's usually eclipsed by the subsequent Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales each year).

"This is yet another example of the flexibility Amazon has to push the pricing envelope, in this case to broaden and deepen the benefits to Prime members, which creates a conundrum for all retailers, with the smaller, financially weaker retailers the most at risk", said Charlie O'Shea, VP at Moody's in commentary provided to Retail TouchPoints.

Here are some tips for shopping Prime Day.

Overall, about 27 percent Prime day shoppers plan to spend between $51 and $100; 26 percent will buy less than $50 worth of goods. Users also have the option of bundling up all their Prime Day purchases into a single shipment scheduled for an Amazon Day of their choice.

A lot has changed since the first Amazon Prime Day back in 2015.

Amazon recently updated its Prime offering.

The expansion of the so-called day of deals and discounts for Amazon Prime subscribers builds on last year's growth, which saw Prime Day last 36 hours in total.

The event also allows Amazon to draw attention to its own products and encourage users to subscribe to Amazon Prime, the premium shopping, delivery and streaming media service that is now used by more than 100 million people worldwide.
