Infinity London is a 360-degree infinity pool on a skyscraper

A rendering of the infinity pool

A pool company is ready to give influencers from around the world a new reason to flock to London.

"Pop your goggles on and with a 360-degree view of London from 220m up, it really will be something else - but it's definitely not one for the acrophobic!"

Compass Pools announced plans to build the world's first infinity pool with 360-degree views on Thursday, reports CNN. This material, the company claims, has a refractive index similar to water, so the pool would look like a solid block of water. The top few storeys of the planned skyscraper will be given over to a luxury hotel and, you guessed it, the pool will be for the use of guests. While majority have one edge made of transparent material (usually glass), a company called Compass Pools is planning to build one that has the said effect on all sides. This will apparently be achieved by a rotating spiral staircase inside of the pool allowing visitors access.

The designers envisage that the pool will sparkle like "jewel-topped torch" at night, with the building fitted with a collection of lights. "Normally a simple ladder would suffice, but we didn't want stairs on the outside of the building or in the pool as it would spoil the view - and obviously you don't want 600,000 litres of water draining through the building either", the company says. "But on this project, we actually started with the pool design and essentially said, 'how do we put a building underneath this?'"

Some Inside Celtics Regret Not Pushing Harder For Kawhi Leonard Trade
The story highlighted a quote Leonard used to repeat as a motto, which is simple: "board man gets paid". The Knicks finished the season with a 17-65 record.

Instead of glass, the pool will be made from cast acrylic and include a number of fancy features like the computer-controlled building management system so the water doesn't just randomly fall over the edge and on unsuspecting punters below.

Construction will kick off in 2020 "if all partners and contractors are confirmed", according to the company's website. And what will it take to get all that water up there?

Getting into and out of the pool would be easy with some kind of external staircase, but the building's designers didn't want to clutter the side profile of the structure with such things.

Another notable trait of the rooftop pool is that it's being built in London, where it rains 106 days a year on average.
