Barbra Streisand Says Michael Jackson Accusers' Experience "Didn't Kill Them"

While I didn't wake up this morning and think "oh gee, I wonder if Barbra Streisand has any freakish and bad takes on the Michael Jackson sexual abuse allegations", a lot can change in a couple of hours, and now here we are.

Although she added that she "absolutely" believes the two men, she appeared to take a swipe at their parents, claiming that it was their "fault" for allowing them to sleep in a bed with the "very sweet" and "very childlike" Jackson.

When the 76-year-old actress, who was in London doing press for an upcoming July performance in Hyde Park, was asked if she was mad at Michael Jackson she said, "It's a combination of feelings".

Speaking to The Times in the UK, Streisand said alleged victims Wade Robson and James Safechuck, the subjects of the Leaving Neverland documentary, "were thrilled to be" at Jackson's infamous ranch and what allegedly happened to them "didn't kill them".

Speaking with The Times in the United Kingdom, the interview that sparked the intense response, Streisand, 76, said she "absolutely" believed Robson, now 36, and Safechuck, now 41. "You can say 'molested, ' but those children, as you heard say (in the documentary), they were thrilled to be there".

"Oh God, no. This is disgusting", wrote on person on Twitter.

The company and its president's assets in the US are being blocked while individuals and entities are banned from carrying out any dealings with the sanction targets.

After the interview was published, Streisand's name was trending on Twitter as users expressed surprise and outrage, including the director of "Leaving Neverland", Dan Reed. "I feel bad for him", she told the Times. This breaks my heart that she would say this. Because this is such a wrong and hurtful thing to say. Ugh.

"Shame on you @BarbraStreisand for disrespecting the victims of child rape".

"Who knew in 2019 I would throw my love for ..."

"It's with great honor that I can happily report that Barbara [sic] Streisand is officially canceled", one man wrote.

She followed that sentiment with sympathy for Jackson, saying that he had needs and that he couldn't really help himself because of past trauma or genetics. "No more", read another comment.

espnW: Did the outcry towards Michael Jackson after the release of "Leaving Neverland" factor into your decision? They called the documentary "an outrageous and pathetic attempt to exploit and cash in" on the music legend. Despite the allegations some Michael Jackson fans have maintained his innocence.
