Malcom Brown signs three-year, $15 million deal with New Orleans

Saints signing former Patriots defensive tackle Malcom Brown

The New Orleans Saints are adding a big name at defensive tackle, signing New England Patriots free agent Malcom Brown.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network first reported the signing, and Nick Underhill of the Advocate confirmed it.

The status of David Onyemata for the start of the season is also up in the air after he was cited for allegedly having marijuana delivered to his home.

Bale: Manchester United boss Solskjaer fails to rule out move
The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea mostly have easy games for the remainder of the league season but Man United will have to face the likes of Man City, Everton and Chelsea.

Another starting defensive tackle from 2018 for the Saints is Tyeler Davison, who is now an unsigned free agent.

Brown, 25, played four years for the Patriots after being selected No. 32 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Texas. In three postseason contests with two starts, he posted four tackles (three solo), anchoring the interior of a Patriots run defense that surrendered only 40.7 yards per game and 3.05 yards per attempt. He made 186 tackles and 8.5 sacks, peaking at 50 tackles in 2016 and three sacks in 2015 and 2016. The hope was that Brown might find the open market cooler than he hoped it to be and then consider taking less money to return to the Patriots, but apparently he found a willing suitor in the Saints.

New England declined to pick up the 5th year team option from his rookie contract last offseason, leading him into free agency this year.
