Tell-All Author Sues Trump Over Non-Disclosure Claim

Ex-Trump aide is now suing the president for abusing his office and trying to punish his speaking out report

Former White House communications aide and "Team of Vipers" author Cliff Sims is suing President Trump and the federal government, claiming the president and his administration are "intentionally" and "unconstitutionally" trying to silence him.

Sims' lawsuit, however, claims Trump's campaign is trying to silence Sims by trying to apply an NDA to "information Mr. Sims learned exclusively during his federal service", according to The New York Times.

In Sims' lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Washington D.C. on Monday, the former White House staffer argued that Trump utilized his campaign organization as a "private surrogate" for the federal government in order to restrict his First Amendment rights, reported the New York Times.

Trump has had members of the administration and his campaign sign non-disclosure agreements, as revealed by Omarosa Manigault-Newman, who wrote a scathing book about her time working for Trump after she was sacked.

When Sims' book was released, Trump called Sims a "low-level staffer" and a "mess," after which Sims tweeted out pictures of himself and the president in the White House.

George had 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the third triple-double of his career as the Thunder improved to 37-19 on the season . He broke Wilt Chamberlain's record of consecutive triple-doubles in a season .

"It's our understanding from sources that the president was consulted and instructed the campaign should proceed with the arbitration", Zaid said.

A White House spokesman did not immediately return a request for comment.

Sims signed an NDA during his time working for the Trump campaign but does not know whether he signed an additional White House agreement regarding "confidential" information, according to the lawsuit, which states that Sims is operating under the assumption that he did sign such a document.

"He pretended to be an insider when in fact he was nothing more than a gofer", Trump said in the tweet. Trump's campaign, per the Times, had filed an arbitration claim against Sims earlier this month for allegedly violating the NDA he signed in 2016. He signed a nondisclosure agreement.
