Enes Kanter agrees to deal with Trail Blazers

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting the Trail Blazers have signed seven-year veteran big man Enes Kanter, who was recently bought out by the New York Knicks.

Enes Kanter's tenure with the New York Knicks came to an end at the trade deadline last Thursday when the organization waived him, sending him into the free agent market.

Kanter chose Portland over the Los Angeles Lakers and several other teams.

Kanter has appeared in 560 career games with the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Knicks.

Get the dedicated Sky Sports F1 channel - the exclusive home of all live F1 - for £18 a month in HD with no contract. The former champions were third overall in last season's constructors' championship, winning four races.

The Blazers are now sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 33-23.

The Blazers signed Kanter as a restricted free agent to a four-year, $70 million offer sheet in 2015. The Blazers rotation is already crowded following the addition of Rodney Hood who could impact the minutes of players at the guard and forward positions.

Kanter's role with the Knicks had decreased in the weeks leading up to the deadline, which led him to express displeasure over his limited role.

The eighth-year center averaged 14 points and 10.5 rebound season with NY this season. In fact, Kanter is even* a href="https://stats.nba.com/players/traditional/?sort=REB&dir=-1&Season=2018-19&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&PerMode=Per36&CF=GP*GE*20" * fifth in the NBA in rebounds per 36 minutes (minimum 20 games played).
