Highlights: Washington men's basketball continues hot tear with victory at Arizona

The Huskies dropped their first conference game of the season when they played at Arizona State on Saturday night, 75-63.

This was seen a year ago at the University of Arizona as many of its top recruits left as ESPN broke the news of Sean Miller being accused (falsely) of being part of a pay to play recruiting tactic.

However, the Sun Devils had great success getting the ball into the high post, which is something most UW opponents are unable to do.

Cheatham finished with nine points, nine rebounds and seven assist.

Make it an unexpected desert sweep for Robert Franks and the Washington State Cougars. However, the team's crowning achievement in the victory was its commitment to controlling the paint, as ASU had more than double the points in the paint of Washington (42-20) and nearly twice as many rebounds (40-23).

He netted a 3, then scored from inside, to give the Cougars their biggest lead, 47-31, with 13:03 to play. Ellerby are multi-dimensional players who can operate inside and be effective with their shot-making and passing. Expect improved defense from both teams, and the Sun Devils to make just enough shots to win at home. Timmins had a couple of nice baskets early, but he wasn't much of a defensive presence.

Noah Dickerson, who sprained his ankle against UCLA, was questionable to play. While Hurley did call the move "childish" in retrospect, the message clearly made its mark as the team had its best shooting percentage against a Pac-12 opponent since February 2, 2013. David Crisp in particular had a rough night, going 4-14 on three-point attempts. Jaylen Nowell contributed 15 points, going five of thirteen including three of six behind the arc.

Picking against this Huskies team seems foolish after what they've done in conference play.

Subaru Legacy Turbo bows in Chicago
In this setup, the 2020 Legacy hits 60 miles per hour from a standstill in 6.1 seconds and returns 24 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. Eight standard airbags are included, and Subaru is predicting a IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating after testing later this year.

Samsung will make a 5G smartphone for AT&T too
The platform will also be 5G ready thanks to being compatible with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X50 modem . It is not yet known what model will implement next-generation 5G mobile communication services.

Luther 3-9 2-2 11, Jeter 0-5 0-0 0, Smith 3-8 2-2 10, Randolph 1-6 0-2 2, Coleman 5-14 3-4 14, Lee 2-3 0-2 4, Doutrive 3-8 4-8 10, Barcello 2-6 0-0 4. Dominic Green started in his place.

And Nahziah Carter was scoreless on 0-for-5 shooting in 15 minutes off the bench. We tried to focus on not shooting outside shots and just trying to go inside and beat them in the paint.

Still, Washington scored more points at OR - a 61-56 win - and was able to get the victory. The long week off should help rejuvenate an ailing Huskies team.

Washington hasn't lost consecutive games this season, but those early defeats were in the nonconference season and followed by very winnable games against mid-majors.

Washington State: hosts arch-rival Washington next Saturday. Starter Hameir Wright didn't play. He scored a combined 68 points on the Cougars two-game road trip to Arizona.

In the Cougars' sweep over ASU and Arizona, Franks made 23 of 36 from the field, including 13 of 20 from 3-point range.

Washington State, which never trailed after scoring the game's first seven points, led 33-21 at halftime, holding Arizona to 27.3 percent shooting from the field.
