Destiny's Child's Michelle Williams, fiance Chad Johnson split

Michelle Williams Reveals Her and Fiancée Chad Johnson Split Up

Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams says it's over between her and pastor Chad Johnson. The timing couldn't be more awkward, since the now former-couple's joint reality TV show documenting their relationship is merely a month old, and is still airing new episodes on OWN TV.

In announcing their split, Williams also noted that "the healing that needs to take place is a must!" and wished Johnson well.

The 38-year-old singer met Johnson, a 40-year-old pastor and pro sports chaplain, at a spiritual retreat in Arizona in March 2017.

The couple has had their share of challenges and Michelle even admitted her mental health issues nearly made her push Chad away.

In a now-deleted post on her Instagram Story, Williams said she was "single" but still "fearless".

"I was in a frightful, dark place", Williams told People magazine about where she was when she met Johnson. I don't wanna destroy another relationship. The announcement came the same day that Williams released her new single, "Fearless".

While Williams was in treatment, she even gave Johnson an easy way out if he wanted to take it.

Michelle recalled: 'I said something to him on the lines of: "Well, Chad, because you are not black you would not understand why I communicate the way I do. Blessings to him, his family and his ministry". "Maybe because you didn't grow up around a lot of Black people, '" she explained.

When Chad was asked for his take on things he said that it "doesn't matter if you are black or white" but that bringing up race in argument feels like the other person 'is trying to cut'.
