Cardi B Hit With Restraining Order, Sticks Out Tongue In Court

Rapper Cardi B Appears In Court To Answer Charges Stemming From New York City Strip Club Incident

Cardi B must not contact, in person or through social media, the victims of a melee she was involved in at a NY strip club, a judge ordered Friday.

Cardi was arrested in October in relation to the case and charged with assault and reckless endangerment.

USA rapper Cardi B appeared Friday in a NY criminal court, where she was served with two protection orders and warned against making threatening remarks on social media following a strip club brawl.

But the judge said she was not a flight risk.

Police say Cardi B and her entourage were at the Angels Gentlemen's Club when she argued with a 23-year-old bartender at about 3.30 a.m. on August 29. They say a fight broke out during which chairs, bottles and hookah water pipes were thrown, injuring the woman and another employee.

Grammy nominee Cardi B was finally able to pencil the USA court system in her schedule!

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, was released on her recognizance and ordered back in court on January 31, CBS2's Natalie Duddridge reports. She did not speak as she left the courthouse amid a mad media scramble and got into a black Escalade with darkened windows.

However, the judge did issue an order of protection against the rapper, saying if she contacts the two Queens bartenders, especially via social media, she could be arrested - to which Cardi B nodded her head in agreement.

Prosecutors asked Queens Criminal Court to set bail at $2,500 (£1,965).

Queens Criminal Court Judge Scott Dunn allowed the hip-hop star, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, to remain free without bail, a spokeswoman from the Queens District Attorney's Office said. She is due back in court next month.
