Stranger Things 3: The Game Revealed at The Game Awards

Stranger Things The Game IMG

The reveal of the retro-style game was announced at the 2018 Game Awards.

A trailer for a new game based on "Stranger Things" was shown via The Game Awards on Thursday evening. The charming 16-bit format and simple gameplay (shoot and/or hack Demadogs and random butch guards!) is a ideal nostalgic tie-in for the '80s-set Netflix series. Before season 2, they collaborated on a Stranger Things mobile game that had a nice Legend of Zelda feel to it.

The Duffer Brothers, the creators of the hit on-demand series, presented the trailer, which features bits and pieces of what we can expect from the game. According to a press release, the game is a "meticulously crafted Action Adventure RPG that pays homage to the 16-bit era" and follows the events of season three. Users will reportedly be able to take control of characters and go through some of the season's events, with surprises throughout. There's a video game tie-in to the upcoming third season. Since then, fans have received all kinds of merchandise - most of which you can find in this writer's home. Maybe a new Netflix series trailer can give us an idea.?

Deontay Wilder - Tyson Fury rematch will end 'controversial talk' over decision
Taking on Wladimir Klitschko at his fortress in Germany was seen as mission impossible, yet he emphatically defied those odds. I still can't get to grips with it and how any judge and any single person watching that fight couldn't give it to Tyson.

UN General Assembly rejects US-backed resolution to condemn Hamas
In a statement early Friday, Hamas thanked the states that voted against the resolution and rebuked those who voted in favor. In speeches, Iran said the resolution was based on "deception" and ignored the "illegal occupation" by Israel.

The trailer itself shows you play as Jim Hopper and Steve Harrington in a classic arcade style beat-em-up, as you collect coins before fleeing into an actual arcade. And, at the same time, moderately simple, and in a way, nostalgic.

No release date was confirmed during the show.
