Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 earns Rs 500 crore worldwide

Lyca, the production house of Superstar Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar- director Shankar's magnum opus "2.0" has revealed that the film has grossed more than 500 crore rupees at the worldwide box office. The Hindi version of the film opened at Rs 20.25 crore and has maintained a good pace even during the weekdays. On Wednesday, the film raked in Rs 9.50 crore, which goosed up its total to Rs 132 crore in India. The mega flick is showing strong signs of retaining its hold in theaters for atleast another month and the final figures are going to astronomical according to national trade analysts. The film, which hit screens on November 29, has touched the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide within seven days of its release. Though there is a significant dip in the collection, the film is still pulling in a lot of crowd to theatres.

Co-distributor Karan Johar shared his excitement and tweeted, "CREATING HISTORY!" He wrote, "A box office PHENOMENA!"
