Nuggets’ Jamal Murray says Nikola Jokic does everything ‘except jump’

Nuggets Raptors Basketball

Nikola Jokic scored three free throws in the final seven seconds as his Denver Nuggets edged out the Toronto Raptors 106-103.

Jokic had 23 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds, Jamal Murray scored 21 points, and Malik Beasley and Juan Hernangomez each scored 15 points for Denver. Serge Ibaka added 15 points, Pascal Siakam had 14 and Kyle Lowry had five points and 11 assists.

In the end, the Nuggets won their sixth straight and interrupted Toronto's eight-game winning streak. The ball swished through the net before referees waved off the three points. Leonard led Toronto with 16 points. Torrey Craig's three late in the quarter gave the Nuggets a double-digit lead, then Murray had a running dunk off a Craig steal to send Denver into halftime with a 59-47 lead.

Denver led 27-24 after the first quarter after going ahead with an 8-0 run.

The Raptors shot a terrible 2-for-12 from three-point range in the first quarter, but still managed to keep it close.

Toronto's awful three-point shooting continued in the second - Miles connected on the only one of 10 that fell for the Raptors.

Toronto still maintained the momentum though and tied the game at 94 with 4:40 remaining.

Leonard was called for a non-shooting foul, but Jokic threw up a shot anyway. Just like he has all his career, Leonard came up big in the clutch drilling a big step-back jumper to tie the game at 103, but the Nuggets still had seven seconds and a chance to win the game.

Julius Randle had 37 points, but the New Orleans Pelicans fell to the Los Angeles Clippers 129-126, with Tobias Harris sinking two free throws at the death to secure the win.

Denver was definitely the better team for the majority of the night. This will be the second time Denver has faced the Magic this season as the Nuggets picked up a 112-87 victory in the two teams first matchup.
