Jake Gyllenhaal announces Spider-Man role

Jake confirmed in a video that he will be playing the classic Marvel villain Mysterio in the upcoming movie Spider-Man Far From Home.

On Wednesday, the 37-year-old actor posted the briefest of clips in which he's shown poring over an old issue of the Spider-Man comic books.

Jake Gyllenhaal has joined Instagram and used the site to reveal that he is starring as a villain in the next Spider-Man film.

Jake captioned the video, "I just realized I'm not playing Spider-Man". "That's what it feels like when you're working".

In October, it seemed clear these talks went well, after people shared footage on social media of what appeared to be the actor shooting scenes in Czech Republic in Mysterio's trademark attire.
