Michelle Obama may describe her new life as "boring", but her interview with Jimmy Kimmel is anything but.

Obama, continuing a promo blitz for her memoir Becoming, gamely read them aloud.

Of her two children, Michelle said, "I'm not sure which one's Sasha and which one's Malia".

However, it was not gloomy to the end for the young Michelle as she says she enjoyed the company of her would-be in-laws when they later travelled to Siaya to meet Barack's grandmother Mama Sarah Obama.

Her frustrations started right from the airport as Obama's sister, Auma Obama, came to pick them in a dilapidated vehicle. "That's insane to me", Kimmel said.

One member of the family who took quickly to the White House was the family's dog, Bo. "He has an aloofness to him". Like, 'I'm a plate spinner.' You know, those jugglers who keeps spinning those plates and if one is starting to wobble, he spins it. "I'm at work. I'm busy'".
