Ghost train Runaway locomotive derailed by mining company after 92km without driver

A massive loaded iron ore train has been derailed after it travelled a staggering 92km without a driver.

In an effort to stop the runaway train, the company deliberately derailed it about 120km from BHP's Port Hedland mine operations.

On Monday, the world's biggest miner suspended all Western Australian iron ore rail operations while an investigation was under way, the Australian newspaper reported, without citing a source.

The driver alighted to inspect one of the wagons at approximately 4am on Monday when the train, reportedly consisting of four locomotives and 268 wagons, took off for Port Hedland before he could get back on board, the Western Australian reports. BHP said that the train began to move unmanned at 4.40am and was stopped about 50 minutes later, implying it had travelled at more than 100km/h with...

Fortnite NFL Outfits Coming Soon
After the end of Fortnitemares , there may also be some new changes to the game that will take players some time to find out. Epic Games has announced the expected release date and time for the upcoming v6.22 patch update in Fortnite .

It remains unclear what caused the train to take off by itself, but the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has already sent two experts to look into the matter.

A BHP spokeswoman did not immediately comment on the report.

The company said the driver was inspecting an issue with the train when the locomotive ran away.

"With no one on board, the train traveled for 92 km before being deliberately derailed at a set of points operated by the control center, about 119 km from Port Headland".
