More bad onions behind 398 ton ready-to-eat meat and poultry recall
By News Desk

The U.S. Drug Administration is recalling almost 2.5 million pounds of beef and chicken taquitos that might be tainted with the bacteria Salmonella and Listeria.

The Denison-based manufacturer received word from its onion supplier Tuesday and announced the recall Friday, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service. The recalled products, produced by Bakkavor Foods USA, Inc., were stocked at Trader Joe's and Harris Teeter, a supermarket chain primarily in the southeast.

The items were shipped to Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and New Jersey.

The products recalled have "17523A or P-17523A" and "45694 or P-45694" in the USDA mark of inspection.

In addition to the testing tunnel and the East Coast route, the Boring company lists an underground tunnel project in Chicago. He also said he'd like to include transit pods that can carry pedestrians and cyclists through the subterranean system.

Ruiz Food was notified on October 16, 2018, that the diced onions used in the taquitos were being recalled by their supplier because of possible contamination.

If you have purchased these products, it is urged you do not consume them. The agency encouraged people to contact their healthcare providers if they are concerned.

Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps. Listeriosis can cause diarrhea, fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions.
