Trump jokes about Greg Gianforte body-slamming reporter amid Jamal Khashoggi's disappearance

A Secret Service agent stands guard as President Trump speaks at Alumni Coliseum in Richmond Ky. on Oct. 13

He detailed that he saw a Trump supporter doing wrestling moves in the crowd while Trump continued his attack on reporters. "There's nothing to be embarrassed about", Trump said.

"Then I said, 'Well wait a minute, I know Montana pretty well, I think it might help him.' And it did", the president said.

Almost two years in office, Trump said at his rally in Montana Thursday that his blonde locks have withstood so many windy conditions that naysayers have finally realized he can't have fake hair.

Trump referenced Gianforte again later in the rally when discussing former Vice President Joe Biden, who once said he would "beat the hell out of" Trump if they were in high school.

Australia's chief medical officer deported from Nauru
Morrison said there was a bill still sitting in the Senate from 2016 that would close the back door from New Zealand to Australia. A spokeswoman for the Department of Home Affairs said her removal was a matter for the government of Nauru and IHMS.

The comment comes at the same time as the administration responds to the disappearance and apparent murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Trump said on Thursday that it "certainly looks" as though Khashoggi is dead.

Trump, who frequently criticizes what he terms the "fake news media" and has repeatedly described news organizations as the "enemy of the people", has been accused of setting a tone that condones abuses against journalists in other countries.

"The President of the United States tonight applauded the assault on an American journalist who works for the Guardian", John Mulholland, US editor of The Guardian, said in a statement.

Trump did not, however, note Gianforte eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and was mandated to attend anger management classes, along with having to fork over payment for a fine.
