According to the chief of 911 operations for Columbus County, North Carolina, a female placed a call in the evening of October 13. The cops were called to the house after Jenelle made a tearful call to 911.

People Magazine reported that a woman made the call around 10:00 pm and said an individual had been assaulted. She then went to the hospital in a "private vehicle" instead. Much of the report was confirmed by People.

The Columbus County Sheriff's Office informed Us Weekly that, before Evans was transported to the hospital, police officers "advised [Evans] of the legal action she could take". "Jenelle ended up tripping and falling by the fire".
