Yemen faces worst starvation seen in 100 years

The global organization has called on the military coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, to halt air strikes which are killing civilians, and contributing to what the it says could become "the worst starvation in the world in 100 years". UN's Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, Lise Grande, told the BBC that 12 to 13 million civilians could starve to death.

Hodeidah, with its key port installations that bring in United Nations and other humanitarian aid, has become the center of the conflict in Yemen between Arab allies led by Saudi Arabia and Houthi rebels backed by Iran.

In the latest violence, at least 15 civilians were killed on Sunday, and 20 others injured, when a group of minibuses were bombed in Jabal Ras District, in the main port city of Hodeidah. "The UN agencies working in Yemen unequivocally condemn the attack on civilians and extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims".
