Strictly Come Dancing's Seann Walsh and Katya Jones apologise for 'drunken kiss'

Strictly's Seann Walsh and Katya Jones

Their messages come after Seann told Zoe Ball he was "sorry" for all of the hurt he caused, after he was seen kissing Katya in a deserted street - on his now-ex's birthday.

Earlier this week, the comic was publicly dumped by his long-term partner Rebecca Humphries, who added in a withering statement that he had called her "psycho" when she suspected something was going on.

Comedian Walsh and professional dancer Jones, who is married to another dancer on the programme, have both apologised for making a mistake after being pictured in The Sun kissing in on a night out.

"It's incredibly good of Sean (n) and Katya to apologise in the media". I have received nothing. other than the support of my family, friends, and a host of strangers on the internet who all wanted to make sure I was OK.

She said: 'Katya swapped her normally tactile and fun-loving behaviour with Sean for a very regal-looking public act of rejection as she crossed her legs away from him and performed a shudder of what looked like theatrical pain as the pair launched themselves into their apologies. I was alone at home when Seann texted at 10pm, saying the two of them [he and Katya] were going for one innocent drink.

She said that "his actions over the last three weeks had led to believe something inappropriate was going on", and that he denied it, repeatedly calling her "psycho/nuts/mental".

Melania On #MeToo: We Should Support Men, ‘Not Just Women’
The interview came in the wake of the controversial hearings in which Justice Brett Kavanaugh defended himself from allegations of sexual assault in the early 1980s.

"I have a voice and will use it by saying this to any woman out there, who deep down feels worthless and trapped with a man they love". It's more than lying. "I'm not sorry I took the cat though". It's controlling. Tell some very close friends who, if they're anything like my wonderful network, will swoop in and take of the logistics and of you.

Rebecca ended her heartfelt note with: "It's important also to recognise that in these situations, those who hold power over you are insecure and fragile. I'm still sorry for what I did, but it's very important for me to get that out there".

She said, "Obviously I apologise and I can't apologise enough to everyone it hurt and was involved, but the main thing for me is me and Neil are absolutely fine and that's what matters to me the most right now".

Seann Walsh (L) and Rebecca Humphries attend a special screening of The Donmar Warehouse production of "The Vote" at the Ham Yard Hotel, generously supported by Chapel Down, on May 7, 2015 in London, England.

Seann Walsh, the Strictly Come Dancing contestant at the centre of controversy, has broken his silence to insist he is "not the person I'm being portrayed as".
