Nikki Haley resigns from the Trump administration

Nikki Haley and others in the U.S. delegation listen as President Donald Trump speaks at United Nations headquarters in Manhattan on Sept. 25 2018. Haley resigned her post as ambassador on Oct. 9

Trump added that Haley told him she wanted a break around six months ago. The resignation will take effect at the end of the year, Trump and Haley said.

Haley then listed what she said were the administration's accomplishments on the world stage on her watch. But the group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said in its complaint that Haley's financial disclosure did not provide enough information to make the assertion that the flights between New York, Washington, DC, and three SC cities qualified for the exemption. Israel's UN Ambassador praises Haley as "true friend of Israel". "She served her 18 months (give or take), now it's time to move on". Her hardline positions on everything from the US withdrawal from the notorious Human Rights Council to support for Israel to Russian Federation had won her great admiration, to the point where polls said she was the most popular politician in America.

Haley, meanwhile, also said that she will not be running in the 2020 elections and that she will campaign for Trump.

"She's done a fantastic job, and we have done a fantastic job together".

One of the most prominent members of the Trump administration, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley has resigned today.

"Look at what has happened in two years with the United States on foreign policy".

"Countries may not like what we do, but they know that if want to do something we will follow it through".

Kanye West to lunch with Trump at White House on Thursday
She went for meetings related to her goal of securing clemency for individuals facing life sentences from nonviolent drug crimes. After Thursdays meeting, both West and his famous wife Kim Kardashian West will have met with Trump to discuss prison reform.

Speculation about Haley's replacement ranged from the President's daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner to more far out names such as Dennis Rodman and Kanye West, given Trump's fascination with glamour and appearance.

She also took credit for cutting the USA contribution to the United Nations budget, characterizing the move as moving the organization toward more efficiency.

Haley achieved a rare feat in the Trump administration, maintaining her personal popularity despite the president's polarizing politics.

During her more than a year-and-a-half on the job, she has repeatedly spoken her mind, whether it's going further on human rights than many of her administration colleagues or denouncing racism at home. That included a majority, 55%, of Democrats. Haley enjoys strong support among Republicans and has always been rumored to harbor future presidential ambitions. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.). Haley's is the latest resignation in a leadership team with a relatively high turnover - Trump has already lost one secretary of state and two national security advisers. She and Trump have never butted heads, at least publicly, though there has been friction - she once said that his sexual assault accusers should be heard out.

Susan Page, D.C. Bureau Chief for USA Today, said on MSNBC shortly after the presser, "So maybe Jared Kushner or Ivanka is going to be the new United Nations ambassador, with that big endorsement". "We will miss her, but we are all better off thanks to her service". "I am saddened that she is leaving the administration, but so grateful for her service".
