Now that Kavanaugh has a second accuser, what do Senate Republicans do?

A second woman has come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against President Donald Trump's US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

"Survivors must be heard".

According to the publication, the allegations are now being investigated by at least two Democrats in the Senate.

"Listen to Christine Blasey Ford", the statement concluded. Ford says she feared Kavanaugh might inadvertently kill her before she managed to get away.

On Saturday night, Leland Ingham Keyser, a classmate of Ford's at the all-girls school Holton-Arms and her final named witness, denied any recollection of attending a party with Brett Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh staunchly denies both accusations.

"I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents".

Christine Blasey Ford has claimed that four other people attended a small gathering at which she was allegedly assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh.

Before President Trump's nominee can be approved for the vacant seat on the U.S. top court, he has to be approved by the 20-person Senate Judiciary Committee and then the whole Senate. Republicans narrowly control the Senate.

"The committee's majority staff learned the allegations made by Deborah Ramirez about Judge Kavanaugh from this evening's New Yorker report", Grassley said. Despite revelations of Dr. Ford's identity, the Ranking Member and Dr. Ford's attorneys to date still have not publicly released a copy of the original version of the letter or shared it more broadly than the 21 members and senior staff of the Judiciary Committee.

The secretary of the ABC section of the Community and Public Sector Union, Sinddy Ealy, said the board had done the right thing. The termination of Guthrie's appointment comes after reported tension between Guthrie and the ABC chair Justin Milne.

Sen. Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat on the committee, said Sunday he believed Ford's requests have been reasonable and that she deserves a fair hearing to determine whether her allegations are serious enough to vote down Kavanaugh's nomination.

"Yet again, Senate Democrats actively withheld information from the rest of the Committee only to drop information at politically opportune moments", Grassley said in a statement.

Ford told the Washington Post she was afraid Kavanaugh might "inadvertently kill" her during a high school party in the early 1980s, alleging that the Supreme Court nominee pinned her to a bed and groped her over a one-piece bathing suit.

The accusations of sexual misconduct lodged against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh are part of a "vast left-wing conspiracy" and are being fueled by women's " pent up" frustration, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said.

But having spent six days assessing her memories and consulting her attorney, she felt more confident and was now calling for an FBI investigation.

He added, "I think it could be, there's a chance that this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate for anything but I am with Judge Kavanaugh and I look forward to a vote and for people to come out of the woodwork from 36 years ago and 30 years ago and never mention it and all the sudden it happens, in my opinion, it's totally political".

Ramirez now claims this man was Kavanaugh, though she admits there are "significant gaps in her memories".

Mr Grassley turned down Ms Ford's request that only senators, not lawyers, be allowed to ask questions.

He also asked for the results of a polygraph that Blasey said she had taken in August.

Trump said that he would not likely be able to convince Democrats to vote for Kavanaugh, which means he would need the support of nearly every Republican in the Senate.
