Martin Keown explains why Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is playing within himself

Jurgen Klopp has said that he wants his Liverpool to be "the ugliest team to play against" as he and his charges push to lift silverware this season.

The clash with Real Madrid skipper that saw Salah injure his shoulder and trudge off in the first-half of last season's Champions League final has been well-documented and Keown does not believe the Egyptian has got over it.

He has scored twice in six matches this term, though he had only one more goal at this stage of the 2017-18 campaign.

"Of course, of course everyone expects that [he matches last season's form]", Klopp said at a news conference on Friday. "It is really no problem".

The reigning PFA player of the year scored in Liverpool FC's home victories over West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Klopp also insisted he doesn't need to speak to Salah to stop him being anxious about his lack of goals so far, because he knows they will come.

EU pushes for October Brexit agreement, but threatens no deal
An emergency summit on Brexit proposed for November 17-18 will only happen as a "punchline to effective negotiations", Tusk said.

When told about Salah's start to this season compared to last, Klopp added: "Wow, that's a crisis. They want to feature and that is what we have to do for sure".

Liverpool have become known for their attractive brand of football under Klopp, spearheaded by forwards Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The best news I have had in the last two weeks is how we have changed or reinvented again our defensive skills.

"It is a completely normal situation for an offensive player that they have times when they don't score". But he is still a threat, had fantastic situations in both games and he is in good shape. Will it be 40 goals at the end of the season?

Liverpool have already condemned one of the tournament favourites, Paris Saint-Germain, to defeat in their Champions League group opener on Tuesday night.

The Switzerland worldwide was the surprise package in Liverpool's summer transfer dealings with the club capitalising on a £12.5million release clause to take him from relegated Stoke.
