OnePlus 6T Confirmed: In-display Fingerprint Scanner, NO Headphone Jack

Cameron 12:45 PM

The render you can see below doesn't show off much about the phone apart from how the camera setup seems to be similar to what we saw on the OnePlus 6. From the dream of some fans, that here three cameras would be used on the back, is obviously nothing, because of OnePlus sticks to a dual-camera unit, in which apparently - at least if one compares with the press images of the OnePlus 6 the same sensor configuration is used.

It comes from an ad that was expected to run in India during an Asian Cup 2018 cricket match and stars celebrity Amitabh Bachchan holding up the phone and talking about the in-display fingerprint tech. The next official announcement, which concerns the "6T's" loss of a headphone jack, may modulate it somewhat, however.

OnePlus 6T - the hoped-for triple cam will not work. Some information about the new handset, including confirmation that it will indeed be called the Oneplus 6T, has come to light so join us after the break for more details. In addition, a comparison with the OnePlus 6 shows that the position of the power button has been slightly changed and the new model appears to have slightly changed overall proportions, indicating a grown display. With the increase in screen real estate, the consumers will get a better viewing experience.

Leaked OnePlus 6T image suggests one of the rumors floating around was wrong
OnePlus 6T: latest leak suggests the update is more incremental than previously thought

Rumors so far have suggested that the OnePlus 6T would be nearly identical to the recently released Oppo R17 Pro, which means that the former will borrow the triple camera setup on the back. The TVC also gives us a glimpse of the back panel of the phone.

Tucked under the hood of the OnePlus 6 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor and users can also add up to 8GB of RAM which may explain the performance.

Like the older OnePlus smartphones, the upcoming OnePlus 6T will also be exclusive to Amazon in the sub-continent. It is also rumoured to boast a bigger battery capacity with faster Warp Charge (aka Dash Charge) technology. But the one we have today might put most of those to rest.
