Circus camel that damage 7 spooked by thrown shovel

Video shows that a camel got loose at the Shrine Circus during its stop at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday afternoon

A startled camel started bucking during a circus when a child apparently threw a shovel at its feet, injuring six children and an adult and causing frightened circusgoers to flee the arena.

The dramatic incident was over within 11 seconds, with the circus resuming shortly after as normal.

The most serious injury was a broken arm, WXPI reports. Suddenly, one of the camels startled and began bucking, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri.

"They were giving camel rides and camels were walking around calmly". The video shows the camel bucking and throwing the children off its back.

It was the show's third and final day.

"I was shouting, 'Jesus help them, '" witness Jenny Lynch told the newspaper.

Cathay Pacific turns typo on airplane livery into clever marketing strategy
Cathay Pacific has poked fun at a spelling mishap that occurred after the completion of a paint job on one of its aircraft. In response, many social media users praised the company's public relations team for their approach.

In a video posted on social media, an announcer may perchance also be heard pronouncing, "Ladies and gentlemen, dwell detached, please. We are looking for a medic, an EMT".

Emergency medical services were on hand for the event and they provided medical treatment to the children and adult who were injured.

Shrine Circus Chairman Paul Leavy says the animal is about 3 years old and healthy.

The Pittsburgh Shrine Circus was supposed to be "THE PLACE FOR FUN!" according to all-caps-heavy advertisements that promised acrobats, an array of animals and a special appearance by a Marvel Comics legend. A veterinarian examined and cleared all of the animals, including the camel, to return to the arena.

'Our thoughts and prayers go out to those hurt in the Syria Shriners Circus today at PPG Paints Arena'. "PETA is calling on the Syria Shriners to let this be the straw that ends the camel acts and urging the public never to buy a ticket to any circus that uses animals".
