Teen faces year in jail for pushing friend off 60ft bridge

18-year-old Taylor Smith, who pushed her, apologised to Jordan's sister on social media saying she was sorry and would not have done it if she had known the outcome.

New video obtained by NBC News shows a woman urging Holgerson to jump.

Holgerson told TODAY she believes Smith deserves prison time for the shove that almost killed her, reiterating her earlier statement to NBC News.

When questioned by Snow about her friendship with Smith and how the incident occurred when a group of friends were together having fun, the 16-year-old said she sees the situation differently.

She sustained five broken ribs, air bubbles in her chest and a punctured lung.

The prosecuting attorney's office has charged Taylor with reckless endangerment, a misdemeanour.

The girls were with other friends at Moulton Falls Regional Park, at a spot popular with daredevils who want to jump from the bridge to the water below despite signs barring such antics.

Smith said that she has apologized several times after the incident and that the two have communicated through Snapchat and text messaging. Then one day Holgerson stopped replying.

Fasano said the Green has become "a place of despair" and 'no longer an attraction for families or economic development'. Drugs, particularly fentanyl, are now deadlier in the USA than either HIV, auto crashes or guns, the report said.

"Jordan, I am going to push you", Smith says.

"I hope so, I really do".

She clarified that she did not have any malicious or ill intent in the act. "But I just hope for the best".

Smith spoke out on ABC News with her side of the story prior to the criminal filing, sustaining Holgerson asked to be pushed from the bridge.

Seeing Holgerson's response change from forgiveness to complete silence wasn't surprising for Smith.

Despite facing one count of reckless endangerment, Smith said she is willing to accept the prosecutors decision since she caused Holgerson bodily harm and emotional trauma. "I just pray that she heals and gets better".

Smith added that she hopes they can reconcile and insisted she never meant to hurt her friend.
