Saudi investment fund reportedly wants stake in Lucid Motors

Stop Sign on pavement

After another dramatic week for Elon Musk, in which he bared his soul in a brutally honest interview with The New York Times, his acquaintance Arianna Huffington took the time to offer the Tesla CEO some advice.

As reported by Inverse, Musk, not the one to ignore tweets directed towards him, chose to keep it short and tweeted that Ford & Tesla are the only 2 American vehicle companies that have avoided bankruptcy, pointing to the contribution of all the long hours being put into work to ensure that.

He then added, in an apparent reference to his long hours at work: "You think this is an option".

A New York Times report over the weekend noted that Musk was considering having his other giant company, SpaceX, make an investment in Tesla, which could reduce the amount of cash needed from other investors.

"This is why I referred to "funding secured" in the August 7 announcement", he said, referring to his surprise tweet on that date that he was thinking about taking Tesla private.

"We are reverting to valuing Tesla shares on the basis of fundamentals alone, which entails a $113 reduction in our price target back to the $195 level where it stood prior to our August 8 note in which we newly weighted 50% in our valuation analysis a go private scenario for which funding was at that time said to have been secured to take the company private at $420 per share", analyst Ryan Brinkman wrote in a note to clients out Monday.

But he also warned it would be unsafe not to anticipate a major Wallabies response in Auckland , even without injured fullback Israel Folau .

Musk, a 47-year-old investor and engineer, stunned financial markets earlier this month, when he revealed on Twitter he was considering a $420 per share take-private deal for Tesla, an auto manufacturing pioneer that developed the world's first ever premium all-electric sedan vehicle.

Musk said that in late July, he met Saudi Arabian sovereign fund representatives to discuss the electric carmaker's possible exit from the stock market. In his interview with the Times, Musk said he sacrificed family milestones in the race to meet Tesla production targets.

Huffington's attempted intervention comes at a time when she's been campaigning in support of the benefits of sleep.

An open letter from Huffington, a board member at Uber Technologies, to Musk accused him of "demonstrating a wildly outdated, anti-scientific and horribly inefficient way of using human energy". Her description accompanying the open letter describes her as a "flat shoe advocate and sleep evangelist".
