Kevin Spacey Flick 'Billionaire Boys Club' Earns $126 on Opening Day

Kevin Spacey’s latest film has not found many takers

"We hope these distressing allegations pertaining to one person's behaviour - that were not publicly known when the film was made nearly two-and-a-half years ago and from someone who has a small, supporting role in'Billionaire Boys Club' - does not tarnish the release of the film", the company said.

On its opening day, Kevin Spacey's newest movie, Billionaire Boys Club made just $126. Titles that debut first on VOD aren't generally big draws at the box office, but Billionaire Boys Club is faring particularly poorly.

So far, more than a dozen men have come forward and claimed that Spacey committed some sort of sexual crime or misconduct against them, with some of them alleging the acts happened when they were minors.

The film opened in smaller venues and smaller cities, as well.

The final box office haul for the weekend had not been released as of press time.

The actor was booted from the Netflix political drama "House of Cards" a year ago after he was accused of sexual assault and harassment.

Saudi Arabia pledges $100 mln to rebuild Syria’s northeast
Seven years of a brutal civil war in Syria has cost almost a half-million lives and the displacement of 11 million other Syrians. In a tweet, Trump said "the United States has ended the ridiculous 230 Million Dollar yearly development payment to Syria".

The film reportedly cost $15 million to make. Since then Spacey, now 59, has not only been staying out of the limelight, but is being kept out of the limelight.

In the wake of the scandal, the actor was sacked from the Netflix series House of Cards and Ridley Scott's All the Money In The World, where his scenes were cut and he was replaced by Christopher Plummer.

The film's distributor Vertical Entertainment had said in a statement that it will go ahead and release the film hoping that the actions of an actor in a supporting role do not affect the film's fate.

"We hope these distressing allegations pertaining to one person's behavior - that were not publicly known when the film was made nearly two-and-a-half years ago and from someone who has a small, supporting role in "Billionaire Boys Club" - does not tarnish the release of the film", the statement read.

The film chronicles the real-life club of the same name that made headlines in Southern California during the 1980s when a get-rich-quick scheme turned sideways on the high-rolling people involved.

Spacey plays Beverly Hills high roller Ron Levin, which is not a starring role.
