Trump Pats Himself On The Back For Yanking Brennan's Security Clearance

Many people don't even know who he is, and now he has a bigger voice.

Burr says if the claim is based on intelligence Brennan received while CIA director, it should have been included in the 2017 US intelligence assessment of Russian meddling in the election.

Rove said Brennan has been "over-the-top" and "irresponsible" with his criticisms against the president - though he wasn't sure how advantageous it would be for Trump to paint Brennan as the newest member of "the resistance".

Mr. Trump dismissed claims he was silencing Mr. Brennan, and said his move was about the integrity of security clearances.

Burr says if it is political conjecture, Trump has full authority to pull Brennan's clearance.

Bill Hemmer asked Rove about this, and the former George W. Bush-adviser panned Trump for making a "sideshow" out of his effort to punish his critics, saying it "might have been the right action for the wrong reason". Few Americans have done more to protect this country than John.

Therefore, I would consider it an honor if you would revoke my security clearance as well, so I can add my name to the list of men and women who have spoken up against your presidency.

About a dozen top former intelligence officials are speaking out after the White House revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of President Trump.

The only question remaining is whether the collusion amounts to a "constituted criminally liable conspiracy, " Brennan wrote.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump admitted his decision on Brennan's clearance was linked to the ongoing federal probe into possible collusion between his campaign and Russian Federation to influence the 2016 election.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump pointed to Brennan as one of those he believes is responsible for special counsel Robert Muller's investigation.

"I think Bruce Ohr is a disgrace".

Trump has ordered a review for nine others who have security clearances.

The letter reads in part, "The evidence of a direct connection between the Russian government and Donald Trump's presidential campaign continues to mount and has led Michael Morrell, the former Acting Central Intelligence Director, to call Trump an "unwitting agent" of Russia and the Kremlin".
