Nasir Jamshed banned for 10 years in spot-fixing probe

Six Pakistani players have been given bans of varying lengths.

After being found guilty in a spot-fixing charge, Pakistani cricketer Nasir Jamshed has been handed a ban of 10 years from playing any form of global or domestic cricket.

PCB's legal advisor Taffazul Rizvi said Jamshed was the "lynchpin" in the scandal. In December, Jamshed was handed a one-year ban for failing to co-operate with the anti-corruption unit's investigation.

In April this year, the PCB charged him with seven violations of its anti-corruption code.

Jamshed, who made his global debut in 2008, has represented the Men in Green in two Tests, 48 ODIs and 18 T20Is, where he collectively scored 1,832 runs with the help of three centuries and 10 half-centuries.

Defensive lineman Michael Bennett remained in the locker room Thursday night, NBC Philadelphia reported on Twitter . I have all the respect in the world for him.

Jamshed was arrested by British police in February and was provisionally suspended from all forms of the game.

'Our stance from the first day was the he (Jamshed) is the linchpin and he is the one who recruited players and all this fixing saga took place, ' Rizvi said.

He will not be allowed to be involved with cricket or cricket administration even after his period of the ban is over.

The other four cricketers Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Shahzaib Hasan and Muhammad Irfan had served their respective punishments.

Last week, an independent adjudicator extended another Pakistan global cricketer Shazaib Hasan's ban from one to four years in the same PSL spot-fixing case.
