Tiemoue Bakayoko Moves To AC Milan, Ends Disappointing Chelsea Spell

Chelsea news Ross Barkley started for the Blues in midfield at the weekend

If Bakayoko impresses, Milan can sign him permanently for £35.7m - slightly less than the fee Chelsea paid Monaco for his services just a year ago.

Bakayoko was expected to flourish under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge but failed to cement his place in the first-team alongside the likes of N'Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas.

The France worldwide will reportedly join on a season-long loan deal, with Milan retaining the option to sign him permanently in 2019 for a fee of €35 million (A$54 million). "The 23-year-old joins the club on a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent", read a statement on the club's website.

Bakayoko, 23, joins the Serie A side on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

The France worldwide made 43 appearances for Chelsea last season, scoring three goals, and was in the starting XI for the 1-0 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
