Jordan Spieth loses his cool at PGA Championship

Tiger Woods got off to a hot start on Saturday of the PGA Championship

Then there was Adam Scott, an unlikely contender entering the week.

He would par the par 5 and arrive at the 18th green three strokes behind Koepka to chants of "Let's go, Tiger".

Woods has not won a major title since the 2008 US Open and has not won any event in five years. But he, too, rallied through the turn at Bellerive.

As for Woods? He felt the love, and he gave it right back to St. Louis. The rest of the field had faded to irrelevance, with Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm and Francesco Molinari and plenty more lurking in a battle for fourth. But nothing was resolved.

The 14-time major champion lipped out for par at 14 before clawing the shot back when he knocked a stunning second to within a foot of the hole at the 15th, but Woods' chances effectively ended as he carved his drive into the hazard to the right of the long 17th. Scott hardly faltered, gritted out pars from poor position at 15 and 16. It was his 100th start on the PGA Tour, and the win his third major title. When he punished a tee shot 338 yards down the 17th fairway, it was all but over. He also got robbed on No. 11 after leaving a birdie putt hanging on the edge of the cup. Woods is the most intriguing challenger, of course, because he has made remarkably fast progress in this comeback, and because he was four off the 54-hole lead at Carnoustie - just like he is at Bellerive - before he surged to the top of the board and flipped the sports world on its ear.

Tony Finau's run of top-10 finishes in major tournaments likely will end this weekend, but only after the Salt Lake City native has staged another spectacular performance.

Cuomo said illegal entry to the U.S.is the issue at hand, but what Ingraham and people like her are doing is "objectively ugly". The Fox News host faced backlash for her comments including from other media personalities and Democrats such as Rep.

But Koepka would not be denied.

Australian Scott produced a ball-striking round of impeccable quality, a 65 the best score of the afternoon, marred only by a couple of missed putts, including a seven-footer at the last. It also tied the major championship record that Henrik Stenson set at Royal Troon two years ago in the British Open.

Woods broke with his own convention by waiting to warmly congratulate Koepka as the champion walked from the course. The two were paired together in the final round of the 2013 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, though neither contended.

"I didn't think he had a hope in hell of winning a major again", Nick Faldo admitted about Woods on US TV broadcaster CBS, "and now you'd have to say he does".

"I played hard", he said after finishing the tournament at 14-under 266. It was a bunch of fun to play with him. "Nice guy. Hell of a player".

Woods was relentless, pumping fists, raising the putter in his left hand, making birdies and charging toward a finish that caused pure pandemonium among one of the largest and noisiest crowds at a major.
