Manchester United bosses 'vetoed' Jose Mourinho's targets

By their usual standards, Manchester United have had a disastrous summer transfer window.

Harry Maguire, who could face United for Leicester today, Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng and Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham Hotspur were all linked with United, while Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin emerged as a late target yesterday.

"Or Ed Woodward and the United board are absolutely trying to make Mourinho's life as miserable as possible in the hope that they can work out some sort of deal where he goes sooner than later".

Bellamy feels that Mourinho has allowed the World Cup to sway his thinking somewhat, which he claims is out of character for the Portuguese.

"He's been very fortunate to have been given the funds at one of the biggest clubs in the world, so I can't understand why any manager, with that backing, is ever disgruntled. It just seems with Mourinho that it's had an impact on him", he told Sky Sports News.

"It was more down to Mourinho's pragmatism and I'm not sure how much longer the players will put up with it". You get the impression that Mourinho would quite happily swap whatever defensive partnership he fields for Leicester's in a heartbeat.

CL Failure Could Lead To League Glory For Liverpool
Mourinho was speaking at a 9am press conference and his words did not equivocally rule out the possibility of something happening. However, there was no indication that it was a deliberate tactic on his part or that he was being economical with the truth.

Joe Arpaio Unfazed by Sacha Baron Cohen Prank: 'It's Comedy'
Posing at a YouTube star, Cohen managed to convince former Arizona sheriff, Joe Arpaio , to appear on camera with him for an "unboxing".

Mina was regarded by United as far off the level that they wanted in a centre-back and there were concerns about his all-round game.

"He's got [Victor] Lindelof, [Eric] Bailly, [Chris] Smalling or [Phil] Jones, they are all global footballers and they are now thinking that they aren't really wanted there". He isn't convinced by them.

"If you compare with Europe, you are at a complete disadvantage and it does not help the clubs in the Premier League", Pochettino said on Spurs' tour of the United States. It's just the late surge of it.

The club believe they have delivered over the course of the last two windows on the agreed targets with around £73m invested this window in Fred, Diogo Dalot and goalkeeper Lee Grant, as well £35m for Alexis Sanchez in January.

"How many times did you sit on here when Sir Alex was manager and no one came or they couldn't get it over the line?"

"He's more than ready but you can not have the players who arrived only last Monday after the World Cup semi-finals or final and three weeks' holiday".
