CDC reminds people to not reuse condoms 'because people do it'

Some people may be stretched for cash and do this type of mistakes. Condoms have been shown to be effective in reducing infection rates in both men and women.

Correctly using male condoms, female condoms and dental dams every time, can reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and viral hepatitis.

A condom is a sheath-shaped barrier device.

The CDC also issued some more condom-related advice in a second tweet.

According to the CDC, condoms are a one-and-done kind of device.

A lot of people still aren't getting the message about proper condom use.

"So any time you re-use a condom you're actually posing risks to yourself and a partner for potential infections and exchange of bodily fluids, so it's not encouraged and not something that should be done - always use a new condom everytime you have any type of sex".

Though most people think this is a no-brainer, the CDC says some Americans are still reusing condoms. "Use a fresh one for each #sex act", the CDC tweeted. An older study from 2012 in the journal Sexual Health found that 1.4 to 3.3 percent of the participants in the study were reusing a condom at least twice during a sexual encounter.

She said, "Soap and water won't kill all of the tiny microorganisms on or inside the condom, and it can only make the latex more prone to tear".

The US government wants you to know that washing and reusing your condoms is gross and wrong, as well as unhealthy.
