Yogi Ferrell of the Dallas Mavericks looks down the court in the second quarter against the New York Knicks

Yogi Ferrell is not coming back to Dallas. Ferrell, however, is expected to make $6.2 million over two years with Sacramento, whereas the deal with Dallas was projected to be for $5.3 million.

The German living legend has signed a one-year, $5 million deal back with the Dallas Mavericks and will play in a record 20th straight National Basketball Association season. It was also less than the $2.9 million qualifying offer initially tendered, one that was pulled for salary cap purposes but with the Mavericks.

"We felt uncomfortable and will weigh our options", agent Cervando Tejeda told Yahoo Sports on Friday morning.

With Ferrell gone, the Mavs will likely rely more heavily on rookie guard Jalen Brunson, who was selected 33rd overall in this year's NBA Draft.

The Mavs are now riding with Dennis Smith Jr.as their point guard of the future, with Barea playing a backup role as a hybrid backcourt player.
