The Note 9’s success may seal the Galaxy S Plus’ fate

The Note 9’s success may seal the Galaxy S Plus’ fate

This is mainly because of the overlap of smartphones from both series.

According to a report by The Bell, Samsung is struggling to adjust its flagship model lineup to defeat profitability deterioration caused by the saturation of the smartphone market. Further it will also help the company save on its resources, used in designing and developing two separate line of flagship smartphones.

As we've previously speculated, the Samsung Gear range of smartwatches is no longer, instead, Samsung has chosen to call its next smartwatch the Galaxy Watch.

While it is not confirmed, the Galaxy S10 Plus could simply end up replacing the Galaxy Note 10 and feature the S Pen accessory as well. The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, for example, has a 6.2-inch screen and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 only has a slightly larger one at 6.3 inches. However, nothing can be said for sure.

The Galaxy S10 Plus is already rumoured to feature a 5-lens camera system, which includes a triple-camera lens hardware at the rear side followed by dual front-facing shooters.

If the reports actually turn out to be true and Samsung actually merges the two series of smartphones. It's worth noting that, despite reports indicating Apple was disappointed with the sales performance of its latest smartphone, Apple's iPhone X, which cost $1,000, was the company's best-selling device for the first three months of 2018, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

After we've seen patent filings for trademarks, logo hints and endless speculation regarding what software the next smartwatch will run, we now have another report, this time from ZDNet, which indicates the device will be unveiled on 9 August ahead of a full release on 24 August.
