Fortnite was not the first game to bring the battle royale genre the to the masses.

But it's not just that a lot of people are playing the game - Fortnite has also emerged in recent months as one of the most-watched video games. As the news release puts it, this ultimately led to the CPU holding "a backlog of pending requests resulting in a feedback loop" which meant Epic Games had no choice but to close the Playground for repairs.

The glitch was only recently discovered today, so it's likely that Epic Games won't be able to fix it for a good while, unless they think it's amusing enough that it would be better to just leave it in. Most importantly, however, is the promise that this Fortnite merch lineup will be released worldwide, so you won't have to go hunting for Target exclusives on the other side of the world.
