Google introduces visual snapshot, Google Now cards accessible from Assistant

This overview will be updated throughout the day - Android users can access the updates via a new icon that resembles an empty box located at the top right corner of the Assistant app, while iOS users will be shown regular updates as soon as you open the app itself.

As you'd expect, the data will vary based on the time of day, where you are and your recent history with Assistant. This system allows for Google Assistant to be the more ready-to-go part of the Android ecosystem when it comes to appointments, travel times, and recent store orders - and stock prices too, because of course.

In a new update to Google Assistant rolling out today Google Assistant will offer "proactive suggestions" and personalised information to help you keep track of your daily agenda.

You can even receive proactive notifications on your phone to remind you of important upcoming events via the Google Assistant.

Predictive cards previously used in Google Now have just this week been moved to Google Assistant in Android. You could find out how long your commute is, see where your packages are, and see what's on your calendar, all before you even ask for it. Google has so much personal information on you, may as well make use of it, right?

We'll continue to add more useful features to your snapshot over time-for example, an overview of your notes and lists from Google Keep, Any.do, Bring!, Todoist and others.

Multiple Actions enables Google Assistant to answer several commands at once.

Both Home and Echo are continually listening for commands, though Google and Amazon say nothing gets passed back to them until the speakers hear a keyword - "OK, Google" for Home and "Alexa" for Echo. There will also be reminders of where you parked and music and podcasts that you might like.
