Brazil Great Ronaldo Expected More From Neymar

Neymar should have done more for Brazil at the World Cup, says legendary Ronaldo

It comes after Real denied earlier this month they had agreed a deal to sign PSG and France forward Kylian Mbappe.

An online forum had claimed that Real Madrid had sent emissaries to Neymar's father to convince his son to come to Real. Madrid announced this evening that no such offer exists and added that they always follow the standard protocol in their transfer dealings and never make unlawful approaches for players from other clubs.

"Given the information issued tonight by TVE on a supposed offer of Real Madrid to PSG and player Neymar, Real Madrid CF said that this information is outright false", it said.

'Real Madrid has not made any kind of offer to PSG or the player, ' a statement read on Madrid's website.

Ronaldo sympathised with the Paris Saint-German star, suggesting his influence was curbed by the fractured metatarsal which ended his club season in February.

Chelsea finally end Conte saga
Fans took to Twitter with a mixed reaction to the dismissal and manner of dismissal of their once beloved coach. Two trophies in two seasons but the writing was on the wall.

"To sign someone now to score 50 or 60 goals is going to be hard, no other player can guarantee that as Ronaldo has in these last nine years".

"PSG will know that now Cristiano Ronaldo has left Real Madrid, president Florentino Pérez will be on the hunt for another superstar to fill the void left by the Portuguese".

Spanish newspaper AS then reported on Friday that in an attempt to ward off Madrid's advances, PSG were willing to give Neymar a pay rise - potentially to more than Lionel Messi's annual net salary of €40 million. But the Parisian club are hoping this new salary offer will prevent him from wanting to leave.

The former Real Madrid striker explained in an interview with Sport TV as per Marca: "I asked him five years ago and he explained that on many occasions when he's kicked he reacts in that way so that the blow isn't greater".
