Xherdan Shaqiri Set For Liverpool Medical As Deal Agreed With Stoke City

Matt Le Tissier isn't fully convinced by Stoke City's Xherdan Shaqiri, as he reportedly edges closer to joining Liverpool.

Liverpool will pay £13 million for Xherdan Shaqiri with the Switzerland worldwide undergoing a medical today in order to finalise his move from Stoke City.

The Reds have been long-time admirers of the Switzerland worldwide, who underwent a medical earlier today before putting pen to paper on a five-year deal which will keep him at Anfield until 2023.

The 26-year-old scored eight times in the Premier League for Stoke last season, but was unable to save the Potters from relegation.

'I'm very happy to be here, ' Shaqiri told the club's official website.

Xherdan Shaqiri will have a medical with Liverpool on Friday, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The former Basel winger was once one of the most coveted wingers in Europe, but previous stints at some of Europe's biggest clubs did not go well. I'm really happy that now I'm finally here.

Regardless, everything seems to be in place for Shaqiri to become Klopp's third signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho.

Shaqiri, formerly of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, will wear the No 23 shirt for the Reds and has been welcomed to the club by his new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking after the announcement of the signing, Klopp described the move for the winger as a "no-brainer" for Liverpool.
