'Truly sick': Palin rips CBS for mocking disabled vets

Sarah Palin and Sacha Baron Cohen

While we'll have to wait for the show to air to find out what made Palin finally realize she was being pranked, she wrote in a heated Facebook post that she stormed out of the interview.

"Sacha Baron Cohen - I only wish that he had been punched in the face so many times", Trump says in the video.

According to Palin's post, she agreed to the interview because it was advertised to her as an opportunity to honor American veterans.

Showtime and Cohen allegedly lured Palin "to honour American Vets" for a "legit Showtime historical documentary".

Palin said a man she believed to be Cohen "heavily disguised himself as a disabled U.S. Veteran, fake wheelchair and all ..."

Variety first reported last week that Baron Cohen was in talks with Showtime on a new series that would be similar in format to "Da Ali G Show", which saw Baron Cohen conducting interviews with public figures in disguise as various characters and everyday people.

Palin concluded that Cohen's humour is not only "evil, exploitative and sick" but that her daughter now finds him to be a "piece of s-t". That detail has neither been confirmed nor denied by Cohen or Showtime, but it does seem like something he would love to have on film.

Sacha Baron Cohen's series "Who Is America?" hasn't premiered yet, but it's already making headlines left and right.

The names Drudge dropped as having been "finked" by Cohen included "Cheney, Palin, Howard Dean, Alberto Gonzales, Bernie, Trent Lott, Petraeus, Tod Koppel, and more".

Sarah Palin labelled comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's attempt to dupe her by dressing as a disabled vet "truly sick".

Official show description: "In the works over the past year, the seven-episode series will explore the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate our unique nation".

Palin, the 2008 US vice-presidential candidate, says she was tricked into an interview, ostensibly about American veterans, by a person dressed as a disabled USA serviceman.

Remember when Sarah Palin was running as Vice-President in 2008?

She then challenged "shallow Sacha boy" to air the footage, which she predicted would be "heavily edited, not pretty, and meant to humiliate".

Palin, who brought her daughter to the shoot, challenged Showtime to air the footage, but asked those behind the production to donate all proceeds to a charitable group that supports veterans. A teaser released for the show features a clip of Cheney being asked to sign a "waterboarding kit".
