As an worldwide coalition of divers continued to rescue a Thai soccer team and their coach from a cave Monday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk was trying to help in his own inimitable way.

Four boys and their 25-year-old football coach "will be extracted on Tuesday", rescue chief Narongsak Osottanakorn said.

He said a medic and three Seals in the cave, who have been looking after those trapped, will also come out. Helicopters transporting the boys roared overhead.

Thailand's prime minister Prayuth Chan-ocha visited all eight boys in hospital.

Their joy and relief was echoed around the globe by the multitude of people who had followed the long ordeal.

But phase two of the rescue is already underway, and may in fact be over by the time the sub arrives.

"I never lost hope".

"It's really a miracle", Payap said.

Twelve members of the Wild Boar youth football team were underground from 23 June after going for a picnic with their coach after practice.

The president will also have the power to dissolve parliament, issue executive decrees and impose a state of emergency. Under the new system, the president forms government, appoints ministers, vice-presidents and high-level bureaucrats.

To date, each rescued boy has been escorted through the labyrinthine cave by two divers, each of them holding an oxygen tank that feeds to the survivor's mask.

When asked about his first reaction as he saw the first set of boys who were rescued he admitted that he was "very scared".

Somboon Sompiangjai, 38, the father of one of the trapped boys, said parents were told by rescuers ahead of Sunday's operation the "strongest children" would be brought out first. The extraction started on Sunday and eight of the children have been successfully brought out.

Two of the boys possibly have a lung infection but all eight are generally "healthy and smiling", he said. He wrote: "Amazing news that all of the Thai kids are out of the cave safely! We can see that everything is okay as they're eating well", said Thongchai Lertwilairattanapong, Inspector General of the Public Health Ministry.

Doctors are taking no chances with their physical recovery, quarantining the group, administering tetanus and rabies shots, and putting two of the team on antibiotics after they showed signs of pneumonia.

John Tangkitcharoenthawon, a local village chairman, was bursting with happiness over the successful rescue. A British diving team reached the 12 boys and their coach after nine days. "Such a lovely moment - all freed, great job!" "They are getting forced to do something that no kid has ever done before", Ivan Karadzic, a diver involved with the rescue mission told BBC. Musk tweeted: "Just returned from Cave 3".

The soccer team first made contact with rescuers from the United Kingdom last Monday.

The boys will miss the FIFA World cup as it could be at least seven days before they can be released from hospital.
