President Trump in the UK

Many Britons are opposed to Trump's trip which is not the full state visit he was originally promised with the pomp and ceremony that entails.

The trip includes meetings with Prime Minister Theresa May, who has described the USA as Britain's strongest ally, and is determined to secure a trade deal after the country acts on Brexit and leaves the European Union in March 2019.

He said Britain was "a pretty hot spot right now with a lot of resignations".

Prior to coming to London, the president claimed a personal victory at a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit after telling European allies to increase spending or lose Washington's support.

"I just want the people to be happy". "But maybe they're taking a little bit of a different route, so I don't know if that's what they voted for", said Trump.

Asked about his views on the UK's plans for Brexit, Trump said: 'I would say Brexit is Brexit.

Evie, who's 26, is also an American living in the UK.

She's planning to attend anti-Trump protests.

"There will be no alliance more important in the years ahead", she said.

"This week we have an opportunity to deepen this unique trading relationship and begin discussions about how we will forge a strengthened, ambitious and future-proof trade partnership".

The president will also have the power to dissolve parliament, issue executive decrees and impose a state of emergency. Under the new system, the president forms government, appoints ministers, vice-presidents and high-level bureaucrats.

May has had to defend Trump's visit in the face of fiery criticism from opposition lawmakers.

Earlier this week, Trump said it was "up to the people" whether the prime minister stayed on after two senior Cabinet ministers resigned within hours over her Brexit policy.

"They like me a lot in the United Kingdom, I think they agree with me on immigration".

"I get along with her very well, I have very good relations".

It explains that "numerous demonstrations" have been planned for President Trump's visit between July 12 and 14, with most of those in central London, and large crowds expected.

With the president set to travel to Scotland on Friday evening after meeting the Queen at Windsor Castle, a protest is planned for Glasgow's George Square. But trip planners may go out of their way to shield Mr. Trump from viewing another aspect of the greeting: an oversized balloon depicting the president as an angry baby in a diaper that will be flown from Parliament Square during what are expected to be massive gatherings of protesters opposed to the USA leader's presence.

A campaign is also underway to get "American Idiot", a 2004 song by the USA punk rock band Green Day, to the top of the UK Singles Chart.

For Trump, there has been no such tension with Churchill, who is revered by American conservatives for his stalwart leadership of Great Britain during World War II and his role in defeating the Nazis.

Over a lunch of Dover sole, lamb and lemon meringue pie, the leaders will discuss Russian Federation, trade, Brexit and the Middle East.

Mr and Mrs Trump will head to Scotland for the weekend, where they aren't expected to be involved in any official commitments.
