Turns Out IHOP Didn’t Change Its Name To ‘IHOb’ After All

Is Di Giorno OK

The International House of Pancakes is once more all about the flapjacks.

To honor its return to its real name - and celebrate 60 years in the pancake business - IHOP is giving away 60 cent short stacks on July 17.

"We'd never turn our back on pancakes (except for that time we faked it to promote our new burgers)", promotional materials posted to IHOP's social media accounts said.

It's been more than a month since "IHOP" changed its named to "IHOB" to make room for its new burgers on the diner menu, but now they're going back to its original name.

Orange Is the New Black Season 6 Trailer
Red is seen telling interrogators just how strong her girls are, stating that they have "iron wills and f*cking nothing to lose". This is not home", Suzanne says in the preview, pretty much summing up how everyone feels about the new prison.

"We'd never turn our back on pancakes (except for that time we faked it to promote our new burgers)", it read in part.

"We just had some burgers to bromote", the company said in a tweet. IHOP's "word of mouth" score skyrocketed following the name change, according to YouGov BrandIndex data. Before the IHOb campaign, 19% of U.S. adults said they had talked about the chain in the past two weeks.

While the change got plenty of hype online, and resulted in brick-and-mortar locations swapping out their signage in favor of the new brand name for the ubiquitous diner chain, it was not meant to last long.

"The pancakes haven't gone anywhere".
