Bronx Teen Slaying: Gang Leader Apologizes to Family

Harrowing video Surveillance video shows a group of suspects dragging Lesandro Guzman-Feliz 15 out of a bodega in The Bronx on Wednesday night

Lesandro (Junior) Guzman-Feliz, 15, was brutally murdered in the Bronx on Wednesday. His sister-in-law Ione Feliz said to WABC 7, "I don't understand how they let the store owners or employees or whoever is there let him come back out like that, when he's cut in the main artery". He was 15 years old.

The victim, Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, ran to a nearby hospital but collapsed on the sidewalk.

A gang leader may have claimed responsibility and apologized following the brutal slaying of Bronx teenager Lesandro Guzman-Feliz outside a bodega earlier this week. The girl reportedly has a shirt over her head.

"Since he was 5 years old, he told me, 'Mommy, I want to be a police, '" Feliz told the New York Post.

Police said the victim knew the suspects and the attack could have been gang-related; however, his sister said he was not involved in any such activities. And the exterior video shows a man dressed in red wielding what looks like a large knife.

No arrests had been made as of Sunday but Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea vowed to get justice for the teen.

Services for Guzman-Feliz are set for Monday and Tuesday from 3 p.m.to 9 p.m.at the RG Ortiz Funeral Home on Southern Boulevard. "We appreciate your help and your prayers thank you very much", the page description states.

The curly-haired teen was enrolled in the NYPD Explorers program, a group for youths ages 14-20 who are interested in a career in law enforcement, police sources said.

The boy's family members told Daily News he was not a gang member, but he may have been friends with someone who was, and they do not believe the attack was a case of mistaken identity. Once the news spread on social media, celebrities like Cardi B - who's from the Bronx - expressed her condolences and highlighted the NYPD's slow response to help the teen.
