Meghan Markle makes Ascot racing debut in royal procession

Meghan wore her wedding shoes with an Oscar de la Renta frock

There was early speculation that Meghan Markle would don the tiara in question for her wedding to the late Princess's son, Prince Harry, but that didn't come to pass for a very simple reason: the topper belongs to the Spencer family.

Meghan and Harry were pictured today attending their first Royal Ascot together.

He said he was "honoured" that Prince Charles took his place and escorted Meghan part-way through St George's Chapel, but added: "I was jealous, I wish it had been me but thank God [Prince Charles] was there".

Thomas revealed how Harry asked for his permission over the phone, and how he responded with: "Promise me you'll never raise your hand to my daughter". Harry and Meghan were in the third carriage, with the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

The former lighting director, who lives in Mexico, was forced to pull out of the royal wedding with just days to go for a heart operation.

'They have struck up a great rapport and he already has a real soft spot for her, ' they said.

Following months of being hounded by the paparazzi since his daughter's newfound fame, Thomas Markle was revealed to have made a deal with them involving staged paparazzi photos.

Meghan Markle's father breaks silence about missing daughter's wedding
He says the couple, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will probably seek to have children soon. Thomas Markle is a 1962 graduate of Newport High School in Perry County, Pennsylvania.

"Over the last few weeks, everybody has had different opinions, some people said I was faking my heart attack, some people said I was skipping out, all kinds of stories were coming out about me, negative ones".

"They were disappointed", he said. "Both Harry and Meghan were very forgiving about it". "Ya think? If you're so anxious about Dad, demonstrate it".

Meghan Markle's dad is telling all in a new interview with Good Morning Britain.

Her Majesty, 92, opted for a vibrant yellow coat and matching hat, as she was pictured arriving with her daughter Princess Anne. And when she met Harry and she spoke about how much she loves him, there's gotta be a child in the making soon.

He also shared details on his first chat with his new royal son-in-law: "He said "Hello, Thomas" and I said "Hi, Harry" and it became a conversation back and forth mostly about politics he was asking me how I was feeling that day and I said how unhappy I was with the President Donald Trump, and that's how it began".

Mr Markle said the Trump presidency was discussed at least once: "Our conversation was I was complaining about not liking Donald Trump, he said "give Donald Trump a chance".
