'Shy' singer blows away America's Got Talent judges

Courtney Hadwin at America’s Got Talent

It was a pleasant surprise when 13-year-old Courtney Hadwin started singing on America's Got Talent Tuesday night.

From the first moment Hadwin began to sing, judge Simon Cowell was absolutely floored, and he had nothing but praise for the awesome songstress after her performance.

Courtney Hadwin has made it through to the next round of America's Got Talent.

Launching into Otis Redding's 'Hard to Handle', Courtney left the judges and everyone in the crowd completely speechless - jaws basically dropped everywhere.

"Bloody hell, Courtney. You're like this shy little thing when you first came out". And then you sing, and you're like a lion.

"Genuinely incredible", said Simon.

However, it was Howie Mandel who was really impressed by the performance. "You are not from this era, you are from whole different era", said Howie.

The video of her audition has been viewed 16 million times. "I'm a huge Janis Joplin fan". I don't know if you've ever seen the documentary but Clive Davis goes to the Monterey Pop Festival and he sees this young girl that nobody has ever seen before, that nobody knows.

"I'm not Clyde Davis".

America's Got Talent had one of the cutest auditions!

The show first aired on NBC on Tuesday, May 29 and in the run up, Courtney could be seen on the advertising trailer. "The only thing I can do for you, young lady, is give you..."

Courtney is no stranger to talent shows - she also competed in The Voice Kids in 2017 and was mentored by McFly and McBusted star Danny Jones.
