Baby dies after father forgets her in hot pickup truck

A 1-year-old girl in Tennessee died after being left inside a hot pickup truck all day Wednesday police said

Detectives have been told that the child's father left home at 7:30 a.m. with his two children (Katera and a five-year-old) to take them to a daycare facility on Chapel Avenue.

According to police, the girls' adoptive father says he forgot about the child after dropping off her sibling at a Nashville daycare.

She was rushed to hospital but was tragically pronounced dead.

Police said the parents had recently adopted the girl and no arrests have been announced, News Channel 3 reported.

Authorities said their investigation would go on through the night.
