Thurman Thomas is having quite the Wednesday, the former RB is celebrating his 52nd birthday and the Bills announced they will be retiring his No. 34 jersey. "Thomas will join quarterback Jim Kelly and defensive end Bruce Smith to receive such recognition from the Bills". Thomas rushed for 4,847 yards and 43 touchdowns during his college career.

Thomas, who played with the Bills from 1988-99, will have the ceremony during halftime of the team's home game against the New England Patriots on October 29. The Bills retired Kelly's No. 12 in 2001 and Smith's No. 78 five years later. Only two active players, Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson, have more.

Thomas spent the first 12 seasons of his 13-year career in Buffalo after the franchise selected him in the second round of the 1988 National Football League draft.
